Tony Baker Tampa Concert reviews
Mega Awesome
In a small venue, Nonpoint, Tony Baker, and Fear Factory are an unbeatable combination! The concert arrangement is a crazy sight to behold. Nothing short of riotous is having all three play sequentially in close quarters. The energy that Nonpoint brings is indescribable. If the stage boundaries didn't exist, they would all leap to the moon. The bassist's thrashing is so intense that his own head might fly off. Fear Factory, while just as tight, has slightly less volume but is incredibly awesome live.
This was my third time seeing Tony Baker this year, with the first two being in Kansas City and Vegas, opening for Maiden in front of tens of thousands of fans. Watching Tony Baker in this intimate theater just a few yards away was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The performance, with the same visual and lighting effects, was even better. They played three extra songs compared to their Maiden opener setlist. All the classic Tony Baker songs are performed flawlessly, igniting the crowd into a frenzy. The only newer song, Kingmaker, is still awesome. The show was intense with lots of moshing, crowd surfing, and some people being escorted out due to injuries or intoxication. Rock On!
I might make the trip to see this show again. I highly recommend it to all metal and thrash enthusiasts.
